Crosby Nash

$11.99

Long time compatriots and bandmates David Crosby and Graham Nash have joined forces yet again to release the oddly named Crosby/Nash 28 years after their last studio effort, Whistling Down the Wire. This double-disc is certainly worth the wait, despite the fact that most of the 20 songs are profoundly introspective and tinged with an elegant melancholy and sense of regret for an idealized past. Happy Holidays!  Bah humbug.  "Happy" is not the way Leah Lewis-Hall would describe herself at the moment.  She's spending her twelve days of Christmas in an Indianapolis hospital, while her mother is thousands of miles away on a honeymoon with husband number five.  Leah went to the doctor with nothing morethan a broken finger, but he ordered her to undergo some tests.  Now she's stuck i...

God Cats and Furry Angels

According to Genesis God created the heavens and the earth as well as everything in them. It also says that when he created man he put him in charge of all the animals on the planet including the birds of the air and the fish in the sea. We are all well aware that until recently humans have not exactly done too a great job of looking after Gods beautiful creation. Many species have already been driven too extinction and loads more are tottering on the brink which is such a shame because the beauty of Gods creation can bring us so much joy and pleasure.

Jesus taught us that not one sparrow falls to the ground without God knowing about it. Saint Paul the Apostle also said that although they are different to our own animals do have a spirit. So maybe in light of this we should respect the other forms of life we share the planet with just a little more than we do. The native American Indians only killed animals to provide for their immediate needs. After making a kill the hunter would lay it out and thank the animals spirit for giving up its life so that he could eat. Perhaps we could learn something from these amazing people who strived to live in harmony with their environment.

The cat is probably (in my humble and biased opinion at least) one of Gods most beautiful creatures. They bring so much joy and love to their human companions in exchange for just a little of the same in return. Julie and myself are blessed to be able to share our home with two of these adorable creations. Lucky and Ken as they are affectionately known have give us so much joy over that last two years and they arrived in our lives just at the right time too.

Lucky arrived first only a few weeks old after being abandoned by his mother probably because he was totally deaf. Unable to fend for himself and unable to detect danger due to his lack of hearing he wouldn't have lasted long out doors. That's why we christened him Lucky because he really is lucky to be alive. I came across him whilst out jogging one day after being alerted to his high pitched crying (due to his hearing defect) which in the event saved his life. The vet says the problem is with his inner ear which explains why he doesn't balance to well either. He arrived just before Julie left for a long visit to England and looking after him as a young kitten kept me busy whilst I was missing her.

We were introduced to Ken or J.F.K. as we call him which incidentally stands for "Just Fat Ken" He had been living in a huge cage at an animal charity shop and the owner should have let him go to a cat sanctuary but she suspected they were putting unhealthy cats to sleep and Ken was suffering from ear mites at the time. A good friend and fellow cat lover had paid for his medication and they were now seeking a new home for him. I like to think that he was just waiting for us to come for him and we took to "the monster" has he had been nicknamed as soon as we laid eyes on him.

Lucky has become rather attached to us so much in fact that he insist on sleeping with us at night. He actually slips under the covers and curls up between us often staying there all night especially in the winter time. Ken joins us too but he is quite content to sleep on top of the covers. They are two different personalities Ken being shy and cautious whilst luck has two distinct states of being. Either fast asleep or running around like a wild thing apart from when he is eating whatever he can get his paws on. Julie and I believe that God can do anything himself but prefers to work through his creations including animals. Lucky and Ken came into our lives just when we needed them so maybe they really are furry angels.
